| .4 lb weight gain in 1 week. significant or normal? I weighed my baby today and he weighed in a 2.8 at exactly 12 weeks old. Last Friday at the vet appt, he weighed 2.4. Is a .4 weight gain significant or is it normal? He is supposed to be 5 lbs fully grown. I just want to make sure my baby isn't gaining too quick! Thanks! YT Addict | Baylee gained almost a full pound in the first 2 weeks when we had her. The breeder we got her from had her on Purina Puppy Chow and we put her on Wellness when we got her. The vet said she is just eating a better food now and her weight gain was fine

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | That gain doesn't seem off to me - there will be times when he may have little spurts and then slow down too.

| Thank you all! I have no idea how puppies grow, and initially thought .4 in 1 week was a lot for such a little guy. Apparently it's normal! Looking like he'll be about 6 pounds from the growth chart which is fine by me! |
