| Canidae How do you know which Canidae formula to use . I've been looking at their website, and I see they have 3 different formulas suitable for puppies, does it just come down to flavour? I would appreciate some recommendations. I've been feeding my puppy Royal Canin [that's what he was being fed when I got him], but he's been eating his poop , and I haven't felt too good about the Royal Canin after reading posts here on YT. So I just put the last of it in his bowl, and will be buying some Canidae tomorrow. |

| Canidae is great. Just get the regular All Life Stages. The others are just different flavors and are good if your dog is allergic to one meat (say chicken) you can buy the one with just lamb & rice.

| the dealer i talked to..(i bought my first bag today) all life stages regular (not the chicken one and not the lamb meal) she said that i should not feed the other flavors to a yorkie becuase they are really really rich. and it will upset their stomach...plus she told me to slowly move from what i am feeding now to canidae becuase even the normal one is still a little rich... but they get used to it. also she said the other flavors were for the really really picky eaters and it is made to help entice them to eat. but to not use them unless i had to. and if i did use the other flavors then move them extremely slow to the new flavor...hope it helps! max ate his first bow of it today and he LOVED it!!!!! he has deff. showed some progress on how much he eats and how willing he is to eat it! good luck!!! my boys love it i hope yours does too! |

| Vlad I agree. Royal Canine is too rich in proteins and fat. That is really not good for yorkie puppies. My breeder said "Only Canidae and do not switch to anything else". I'm going to follow that. Thx |

| We just switched to Canidae too! The chicken kind and Lula seems to like it so far! I bought the smallest bag which was a little over $9 and I was expecting it to be much more $ b/c of the quality! We also picked up some Wellness treats which she loves! I mixed the new food with her old and she is usually a grazer but she devoured only the canidae in the bowl!! She has gone back to grazing but she seems to like it and the change hasn't negatively affected her at all yet!

| I love Canidae for my girls. We use the Lamb formula and it seems to have made a difference in their skin and hair growth IMHO.

| Switching to CANIDAE ??? What's the best way to switch food? Is it ok to make the change from one day to the next, or do you have to mix the 2 for a period of time, gradually phasing one out? Like I said, Garrett's been fed Royal Canin, and he's a pretty enthusiastic eater, but I don't think it's the food, it's just when he's hungry. Twice he has snuck downstairs and stolen a few bites of my other dog's Beneful, and he's been none the worst for it. He's also stolen a couple of french fries from my son when he wasn't looking, and didn't suffer any stomach upset. Is it ok for me to switch him cold turkey |

| You're suppose to gradually phase out the old food but, I didn't. I kept forgetting to go buy the Canidae when I was running out of Royal Canin and then one day I was completely out. I wasn't gonna go buy another bath of Royal Canin just to phase it out. Meeko didn't get sick at all tho.

| So Far......So Good !!! Ok, I bought the Canidae last night. I had a small amount of Royal Canin left, so I mixed them. He ignored the Royal Canin, and seemed to really like the Canidae. He ate more than he usually would at one time, and kept going back for more. The kibble is a little bigger than the RC, I bought the All Life Stages, but even that seemed a plus, as he loved to chew. No stomach issues so far, I'll be watching him today to see how that goes. - Canidae |

| It took my Yorkies two weeks to phase into Canidae, but 3 weks for my Pommie, and that wasn't even long enough. Don't know if it had anything to do with his food allergies or not.
