Feeding times I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on feeding times. How often do you feed your yorkie? I have a 10 lb yorkie and a 3 lb yorkie. The 10 lb yorkie is 3 years old, but pregnant, and the 3 lb yorkie is 19 weeks old. Do you leave food out all the time? What about water? How long do you let them eat? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a bunches!!!!

really depends on youre preference... you could leave the food out all day and teh dogs will pick at it throuout the day (my mom does this), but i prefer to feed toby at specific times (with specific amounts) because he is a MAJOR food monger....... and if i leave food out all day he will end up weighing 150 lbs..........lol....... if you wanted to manage weight also you would probably use the feeding at specific times with specific amounts........ a friend of mine just measures out a cup of food and puts it in teh dish and that is the dogs food for the day (so she does a combination of measuring and leaving it out)..... it really has to deal with what is best for your babies and what kind of eating habits they have

I try to feed Hercules at specific times, mainly b/c my boyfriend and I work during the day and put him in a crate. We don't want to leave food in the crate, because it would most likely ensure that he would have an accident. Feeding at specific times if you work is probably a good idea. Also, it creates a routine for them to get used to.
