| Heartworm Meds So in a week I'm going back so the vet can check Charlies ear mites and also the doc said I could Charlies heartworm medicine and I'm pretty sure I should buy from 1800 petmeds to save some money. I've already bought one month (but don't remember the name). What if 1800 petmeds sodesnt have what she gives and will it be okay to switch the brand and if so what brand is safe for Yorkies? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Brand name or generic should have the same concentration. I get mine here, and I believe they're cheaper than 1800: http://www.petshed.com/products/category346.asp

| My favorite is Interceptor followed by Heartgard followed by Heartgard Plus. If I didn't get it at the vet, I would get it from entirelypets.com. Their meds are FDA and EPA approved. It is okay to change but if a dog is on a med year-round and has its blood checked every year, the company may pay for treatment if your dog gets heartworm while on their med.
