| Help witn new food Has anyone heard of this food Halo Spot's Stew Chicken Recipe Puppy Food. I went to dogfoodanalysis.com and wasn't able to find anything on it. I just wanted to know if any of you here had used it before. If you have what did you think of it?

| The ingredients do look good but I would not recommend nor feed it. It has garlic powder in it. Garlic is thought to be okay in small amounts, but now small amounts of garlic fed over a long period has been shown to cause asthmatic attacks and anemia. Hemolytic anemia is very serious, so I would not take the chance. Some dogs may do fine with it though... I would only give Ellie garlic in treats only and only a few a year. I know others feel differently, but please google it...

It is in tons of foods including Innova. I used to recommend Innova all the time but knowing this info now, I can't do it anymore.

http://www.consumersearch.com/www/fa...d/reviews.html It will link you to numerous sites and publications that compare the quality of dog foods. (dogfoodanalysis.com has good info, but it written based on the site owners opinion--take that for what it's worth and don't let it be your only guide) Good luck! | |

| Id suggest Orijen 6 fresh fish. Great formula, high in protein so if you pup has liver probs then id advise against it but if yur furkid is healthy then feed away. it is garlic free. By feeding a fishy food from the begining you wont ever have to figure out later if yur pup is allergic to chicken or anything. Im an orijen guy all the way...man they should pay me for this dont ya think? hehe i like orijen and i know you will too. but really anything 6 star should work. |
