| Decrease in Appetite Hi All! Is it normal for Yumi's appetite to decrease at times? Lately, maybe last 2 weeks, she has been extra finicky about eating i.e. she stopped eating dry food all together and only picks at the wet/soft food. I haven't changed her food recently. I am wondering if I need too, or will her appetite pick back up. Otherwise she is fine. Her tempermant is the same, she plays a lot, drinks plenty of water and is healthy. I was just wondering. She is 10 months and btwn 3.5-4 lbs now and I have had her on Nutro Ultra for puppies for many months now. Dawne

| i think its normal to have their appetite to fluctuate, as it happens with us, it depends on many factors like age, level of activity, season change, heat, etc. So, as long as she is eating enough and acting normal in any other way i wouldn't worry. My pulga has some days when she is like starving, she just inhales food and then is all they stealing pieces of kibble and sniffing the floor to see if she finds something, then some other days she barely eats all her food and has more interest on playing or other activities. Also maybe your girl is becoming an adult, did she have her heat? They do change their puppy/adolescent eating habits once they become adults Keep on eye on her and don't get too paranoid (i know i do), am sure she's fine

| Yes, she had her first heat cycle back in December. In the back of my mind I figured this was due to her growing up. I made her some boiled chicken, rice and carrots last night. She inhaled it. So I will be switching her to another food for a while. Thanks for the comments, I feel much better!

| Pixie is becoming picky too, i'm guessing she's bored with her food so i'm changing her kibble and looking at different types of meat to mix with it for variety.
