| opinions PLEASE I'm posting these pics of Kaya. I'm not sure what to do with her top knot hair. The pics show how she looks most of the time. Her hair is extremely fine and thin. Topknots don't stay in well cause of the fineness (is that a word?) of her hair. The topknot hair is also not is super shape. So, do I lop it off or keep it? She is almost 16 months old and the last time it was cut is when she was 6 mos. old by her previous mom. Would it look stupid if I cut it because her hair is so thin? I know when Yorkies have very fine, thin hair, shorter cuts really don't do them justice. Anyway, I'm just considering cutting the topknot hair, not the rest of her. Please give me your opinions and if anyone has pics to share concerning this, I'd be grateful! |

| My Rhapsody won't keep a topknot in her hair either. I used to ask the groomer to put a bow in, and leave enough on top to pull up. But this last time I had him just cut her bangs. They were always in her face, and I actually saw Tiger helping her take the topknot out in the backyard one day. I just dress her up now instead, lol. And I think she's cuter now that I can see her eyes; also I'm not chasing her around trying to put bows back in, lol. A lot less stress for me, and her.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I keep Pixie wiithout a topknot as when I got her at 13 months the breeder had cut it into bangs. I think she looks cute without a topknot since she has thin silky hair. Cali I keep in a topknot but have been tempted to cut hers as well. Pixie likes to pull on Cali's topknow keeping it a mess. I figure it will grow back if I don't like it. You can see the 2 in my Avatar. I think I would cut it.

| Some really do have fine silky hair, but she's young yet and her hair will only continue to grow. I think it will get to the length on top where the tiny rubberbands will stay in with no problem. There are also products on the market that "plump" up the hair to make it feel coarser and thicker. Right now you can use a hair gel. I use #1 All Systems. They have a great line of hair products. |

| So, if I decided to cut it, where exactly do I cut? Do I go all the way to the base of the top knot hair? Or just cut enough so it isn't in her eyes? |

| Could you just make a top knot, put it in a tiny rubber band (from the dentist that they use on braces) then fold it over and add another rubber band? |

| Her hair looks and sounds just like my Mazie. I finally gave up on topknots most of the time, because not only was there not much hair there to gather, and the bands and clips constantly slid out....but they also seemed to pull out what little hair she DID have. I don't really have her hair cut into "bangs", but I just took an electric razor and ran it up through that nose/eye area a couple of times....you don't really SEE the resulting layers, but it's enough to thin out her bangs enough that the majority of it isn't falling right in her face all the time. Sorry if this doesn't make sense....hard to explain!

| Here she is when I put it up today - not the best job, I know... it's just that the hair is so thin that I don't think the top knot looks good. Don't ya just love the alien eyes???? |
