| drama KING Stump is the world's worst dog when it comes to taking him to the groomers. He will bite them, scratch them wiggle around, and he starts shaking once they hold him down. He goes every couple months for a face trim and the full works. But we try and take him once a month (sometimes more) to get his nails clipped, and the hair inside his ears plucked. Anyway, how can I get him to not be so scared/mean? If I leave he still acts the same way. Last time we got his nails clipped at the vet and I heard him from the waiting room screaming. The only thing I can think of is petsmart made him bleed once and hes scared of it again. |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Mabey you could take him in on days when he doesn't get anything done and have the groomer give him a treat and also praise him. Also mabey you couls stay with him a couple times to see how they handle him and reasure him he will be ok? Good luck i know it's hard!

| So funny...Timmy hates getting his nails clip..it takes me 30 mins to clip his nails because he moves around so much. Mimi let me do EVERYTHING to her..she even falls asleep when I do stuff to her. I do take mine to get groomed but at home I always try to do something so they can get used to it. It's worked so far (except the nail clipping for Timmy). They even let me brush their teeth! Try doing stuff to him at home even if your not really doing anything and give him lots of treats. I have to admit it took me along time to get where I am at. Maybe he doesn't like the plucking of the ear and thats why he hates being groomed. I heard that hurts them. I got lucky with my groomer because she grooms mine at her house and its one on one. |

| I have tried clipping his nails here. He lets me get one paw done, and that it. After that paw my arm looks like I'm a cutter because of his scratches! As for staying with with groomer I have tried both. I used to stay and he would be worse because he thought I'd give in and make them stop. He screams like they are killing him, when I know they arent. I've tried everything. He just hates it! |
