| Help please ! Is this cotton coat ? I am going to look at another yorkie. I am attaching a pic of the pup and also the pups mom. Does it look like the mom has cotton coat ? Will the pup most likely have it ? If the moms coat is still black does that mean she has it ? |

| It looks like a cotton coat to me, but the pics are small on my pc. I don't remember which, but you can also tell by the color their eyes glow, red or green. I have one of each, silky and cotton, and one blue/grey and one black in color (with tan). Both are a mixture of both parents. Sorry, I don't think I'm much help. Maybe somebody can tell you more about the eye color. |

| They look cotton coated to me. See how the Mom, even though she is well into adulthood, still hasn't cleared the dark hairs from the top of her head? Although some dogs that aren't cotton coated can take a long time to clear the dark hair from their heads, it usually means that the dog coat is cottony.

| Thanks. I have been trying to search the site to see if I can find out if the chances are higher for the puppy if the mom has it. I'm not having much luck. I know its hard to tell what kind of coat ny puppy will have as an adult but I don't want to increase my chances of the difficult grooming with a cotton coat if I can help it. |

| They look cotton coated to me, but can I just say I LOVE a cottony coat.. My Laci has the cutest coat ever... she is like a little teddy bear. If you had your heart set on a full coat , then this wouldnt be ideal , however If you like a shorter coat its adorable when you keep thier legs longer.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I think my Bridget has a cottony coat. Bridget and Greta are the same age (within 3 days) Greta's coat is to the floor, while Bridgets even never being cut has not made it that far. It's only about half way there. But I have to say Bridgets coat is a dream....it absolutely NEVER gets knots in it except for the tiny ones under the arms especially when she's worn a sweater or harness.
