| Oster Golden 5 clippers I used our new clippers yesterday. Wow, there just awsome. I wish it were alittle bit lighter in weight but it was really a pleasure to use. I love it. If you thinking or are unsure, I don't think you will be sorry in your purchase. The area I had the most difficulty with is the neck area on each side. It's so thick there and my other one (Andis) just did not clip the area good and I had to use scissors. The Oster went right through the area leaving a very professional look. He looks so handsome. I was to tired to take pictures and post. You'll have to take my word for it. Changing the blades while the motor was running was a bit nerve wracking but I got the hang of it and all was fine. | I have had my Oster Golden A5's for ten years and still love them. That is the only complaint I have heard heard about them, their weight. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm so glad you like them Carol. I had read from others, where they can be a little heavy to use but thought it was something you could get use to. LOL....i know just what you mean about the first time you snap on that blade with the motor running.....I was very hesitant! Did they get too warm after using them for a few minutes? I've got an Oster Powermax and that is my one complaint about them, it that they will get warm too fast. I have to using the cooling spray to finish up when I'm grooming Louis (poodle) he takes longer to groom/clip than the yorkies.

I was so hoping they would be lighter but they are what they are. The finished results are worth their weight. I am very pleased with them.

Sorry Jenn to be just seeing this but yes, they did get warm fast. I actually turned them off for a minute here and there. I don't remember my Andis warming up so fast. I think I just got carried away with my new toy and let them run to much, making them warm.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i too find that the osters heat up really fast. I just bought the new 5 speed andis clippers at a grooming show in april. I LOVE them!!!! a little pricey for you at home groomers who only clip your own yorkies but great for a groomer. plus they are pink! hehe
