| Top Knot Help. I know this is somewhere on the forum, but when I search I can't find it. I would like to know how to put in the top knot. Where do I start the parts, and how? Do I part the hair by the corner of the eye? Where is the part at the back? Please help! When I put in Pennys pony, the hair falls into her eyes. I've looked at everyones photos, but they aren't very detailed.

| Thanks! I can use lots of those tips. I'm not sure if I want to do all the steps, since I redo the top-knots everyday. I think I'll put the top-knots in first, then fold and add another band. I don't use sprays (I'm allergic), but I do use oil when I brush daily. I would rather not tease the hair (it is thin and breaks easily).

| Hi-I am new to the forums but not to Yorkies (I've had them for 30 years!), for a basic pet topknot just part from the outer corner of each eye to the inner edge of the ear, then from ear to ear corner. For a really basic topknot you can then just put in a band-if you want a tidier topknot get a strip of paper (wax paper will do, or you can buy acid free paper that is for wrapping dogs coats)wrap it around the topknot close to the head then double over towards the back of the head and then put on the band. This method is kinder on the hair-make sure it isn't too tight or pulling anywhere or they will scratch and rub! |
