| Tipping the groomer salon owner I would post this in the grooming section, but it doesn't grab as much attention and I need an answer asap since he's there right now! Sorry!! I am very tip-conscious, but I hear from so many people that they do not tip the grooming salon owner. I feel wrong not tipping regardless of them being an owner or not. Do you tip the owner? How much if you do? Thank you! |

| The other day I had one groomed and 3 of them just the hair plucked out of ears and nails clipped. The bill was $60(she is the owner and only groomer there) and I gave her a $5 tip. I would say 10% is good |

| I just did a quick search, some go 15 and 20%, it really depends on how good of a job they do. If they do a real good job, you may want to tip more, if they do a crappy job, I wouldn't tip at all and would find a new groomer |

| Absolutely - it shouldn't matter if they're the owner or not. If they're doing the service - they should be tipped. I try to do 20% but with the economy I'm having to lower it to 15%. Also, it depends on the job done and if you're going to be a regular customer.

| I don't know I think I'm on the other side of the fence on this one. If she's the owner she is getting all the money for the service anyway. You usually tip the workers because they are relying on the tip money. They probably make the minimum wage for the hourly work, and tips really do suppliment them. Just my opinion. | Thank you!! I'll probably tip the standard. I'm picking him up in a couple of hours. He looked soooo scared when I dropped him off . I hope he's a good boy for the groomer and they make him as cute as can be . |

| ok this is a little off subject, but i am a hairdresser and i own my own shop and i also rely on my tips! as the owner we have lots of bills and i keep my prices very low for the sake of my customers, so my opion would be if it is a good job and you are satisfied then tip her, cause she will do you pup next time and she will remember you tipped her and hopefully do a great job then too. now if she did a terrible job i would not tip her at all. and take some pics so we can see how your baby looks! renae

| Wow, it never occured to me to tip my groomer. I have a business of my own and I charge a fee and if they can afford me, we make a deal. I have never expected a tip. I've received a few and was very shocked and happy. But as a business owner, I don't see why I would come to expect a tip. Sorry I just don't get it. |

| When I went to pick Turk up on Friday I was expecting to pay $30 based on the conversation when I set up the appointment. When I went in and she said I only owed $20 I was a little surprised. I went ahead and gave her $30 anyway, because I think that seemed like a fair price since tip would be included. I don't think the woman who did the grooming was an owner though. I would say at least a 10% tip assuming you are satisfied with the job. |

| I have to agree with the ones that own their own grooming business. The ones that own their own and don't have anyone working for them are still having to pay all the electricity, and water bills, etc on their own. You know, it's also customary to tip the maids at hotels too. Found this out years ago when I was a housekeeper at a holiday inn. I had never known this before. |
