| Evie's ears are half/half Ok I know this has been asked NUMEROUS of times.. but Evie's ears just now kind of "flapped" her right one stands up ALMOST and her left I noticed statred flopping more and more! Is is because she has long ears? Ok she is teething.. but all her teeth are almost in.. should I start taping her ears now?? or should I still wait a little?? She turned 5 months on the 19th of April... Also, is it mandatory to trim the ears?? or can I leave the hair?

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Sometimes they flop back down when they're teething and yes...until they stand entirely it's best to keep the ear hair trimmed.

Good Morning, If she is teething they will go up and down. If you want her ears to stand you should trim them very very often. The hair on the ears tends to weight them down. Roni | |

| Ahhhh .... teething is cruddy! Toto needed a baby bib!! Their little ears sometimes tend to droop a little when they are teething. Toto's breeder told me to always keep her little ears trimmed very short 1/3 of the way down front and back. I would guess that when teething is over, they would stay up. Good luck and hope teething goes well.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Edith - If you want them to stand I would suggest shaving the whole ear on the outside AND the inside and tape them. Leave them taped for 24 hours and then let them down to give a break and then re-do if still needed. I'd love to see a pic of what they are doing before you do though! |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | So far I've only had to tape one of my pups and what I did was leave it taped for 24 hours then let it out and if it needed it retape again after a few hour break. She's adorable I think if you shaved her ears you might not even have to tape. She has lots of hair on her ears! its cute!!!! Quote:
