| OK yorkie experts, are you ready for a real grooming challenge???? Now what do we go from here???Bernie1 Small Web view.jpg LOL, I'm thrilled my guy is on the mend and would be content even if he had to be purple the rest of his life! However , I think a trim is in order. But do I have to shave him down completely???? That skirt took a year to grow from the last time he was shaved down (due to a previous surgery)Dorkies 214 Large Web view.jpg So do I just shorten his skirt? Shave him comletely....anything other CREATIVE ideas??? I'll be leaving him alone for a week or two until he's feeling better, but a girl's gotta make plans! Who better to help me figure this one out than you???

I would scissor cut the little guy... THe shaved hair will grow to meet it. A short scissor cut IMO. Poor little boy... He looks so sweet... He needs some sweat pants!

| I think I agree...scissor cut it all down to the same length. I'm like you and I hate to see that beautiful skirt get cut off...but the back half needs time to catch up! You could maybe try a pair of shorts instead of the sweatpants!

| What about a layered back? Very short on the very top and layered down to the skirt. That way you keep length, but it will allow his shaved hip to blend in.

| Bernie you are a handsome boy. But maybe a slight trim is in order...just to blend...until it all grows out again. Bless his little heart!

| Just to let you all know, I'm laughing too! However, I couldn't stand it. As he lay sleeping on my lap I grabbed the scissors, and he looks much better, if a little choppy, now! I'll post pics soon!

| Judy, Bernie looks adorable. I would just let his legs, tail, chest and facial hair get longer. Keep his back cut short. I have used 1/4" comb on the clipper's for Buddy's back. I did cut the skirt off. Get well real fast Bernie. Hugs, |

| I would have cut his back and skirt down and left the long shaggy legs and he would have looked like he had UGG boot on!!
