| Frustrated over pee pads! Hi my name is Joyce I have a 10 week old yorkie whom I adore, we are pad training and she shreds her pads. She waits till she pees and shreds the wet area so Iv'e been changing them constantly and now her knew thing is she rips the edges off and eats them. I really don't know what to do, it can't be too good for her. I am always pulling paper out of her mouth. If it was warm enough I would house break her but I think it is too cold bc she is so young. Any advice out there cuz I am pulling my hair out

| We use washable pee pads. I had the same problem when they were pups. I put the pee pad inside the x-pen & lined them so the x-pen was anchoring them down. Hope that helps. They also have pee pad holders, but never used them, don't know how they work.

| u can use the pad holder from petco or petsmart; or u can try taping the pad to the floor; puppies tend to do that; but it's not good for them to eat it. good luck

| We use washable pads, too. The best deal I've found is from this YT member. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...isposable.html

| We got some from Ryan & they're great! Becareful w/tape! Mimi ripped part of our carpet out, so we taped it & came home to a taped up Yorkie! Lol She had tape all over her mouth, good thing we were gone for only about 2 hrs...she couldn't drink, her mouth was taped shut. We had to cut it w/scissors & part of her hair off too.

| Holders from petsmart work really well. I have also taped pads to floor. Just make sure you tape completely around the whole pad so they can't take it off. I also noticed they tend to do this when they're bored so leave lots of chewing toys and chewing bones Good Luck!

| Thanks everyone I am going to check into the washable pee pads bc I have a holder from pet co and she still tears up the center after she pees. EWW she bites the wet spot and tears until it rips! ugh

| pee pads I use pee pads for Belle. I had to get a holder and that helped. I put down a sheet of newspaper over the pad and she pees on that. Saves alot of pads as I just change the paper. If the paper is wet, she won't pee on it, she just stands and looks at me. Oh, we have a seperate pad and paper in the den, that's for pooping, musn't use the same one. Just kind of spoiled |

| I'd agree with everyone else. Washable pads work well. Mine was doing this too. While I was waiting for the pads to come in the mail, I started folding the blue part of the pad under so you could only see the white part and she stopped tearing the pad up. If my boyfriend puts the pad down without folding the blue part she tears it up again. Not sure that it will work for you but worth a try. |
