Therapy Dog Donating Member | Has anyone taken your baby to a Bed & Breakfast... OMG I'm so excited - hubby is taking me to a B&B in Ohio this weekend that guess what?? Let's us take Izzy. It's an awesome place that has horses and everything (even going horseback riding for the first time in my life). So anyway - what's the best way to introduce Izzy to horses? She's been around all kinds of dogs (they have Golden Retrievers on site and kitties which she is used to both) but never horses. Let me know if any of you have ever done this before. I'll be taking lots of picks this weekend too.

| I love Bed & Breakfasts, but I've never taken my babies. I'm sure they have ones that allow dogs.

| Cyndi, That is great. You should have a great time. How exciting for Izzy to see horses. Introduce her slowly and holding her!! lol We have never stayed in a B&B with Moose. (Lots of different hotels!) We stayed at a B&B 2 years ago (it was our 25 wedding anniversary ) It was a "pet friendly" B&B. There was another couple there that had a chihuahua! He was a yapper!! (and not friendly ) I am sure Miss Izzy with be the star of the place. Have a great time and can't wait to see the pictures!

| I used to show horses, and I will tell you this, do not let her on the ground whatsoever! Horses don't pay attention to where they are stepping, and their hoofs are big! Not to mention if they decide to kick, sorry, not trying to scare you...just warning you of the dangers horses can pose ( to humans and dogs) They could seriously harm your baby. Like Moosies mom said, holding her! Now for you, horseback riding is SOOOOOO much fun! Just remember to relax and dont grip with your knees ( or else you will be sore! heh). I miss riding SOOO much! I am jealous!!!

| Have a wonderful time Cyndi and how nice you found a B&B that is pet friendly. No advise for horses except I love them too. Can't wait for pictures.

| I'd keep her away from the horses. My aunt has horses and I've walked over to the fence holding Lacy. I'd never ever let her in the fence on the ground with the horse. Lacy didn't like the horses at all - she growled at them. If you're going to be riding the horses, I'd just let her stay back in the room

| I have to agee with Michelle, I would leave Izzy in your room while you are with the horses. We had 4 horses and they were not comfprtable with strange dogs at all. No sense in something going wrong and ruining your weekend...

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Hi everyone- just got back - you were all right about the horses..lol. She was barking her little head off when she would see them and I didn't want to spook them out or her out even more - so she only saw them for a split second. I posted pics on this thread - of others that she met...hahaha! We had fun and most certainly would do it again. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98210
