| Wobbles and Uncoordinated Zoey is six years old and in the last month or so I noticed she started walking funny. Her legs seemed to be slipping out from her. She took a big tumble down the stairs over four months ago but there seemed to be no problems other than a mortal fear of stairs. I took her to the vet when I noticed the rear legs slipping out. No she seems to be uncoordinated. The vet did blood workups and she had x-rays, all negative. The vet put her on a restricted diet which she did need. Any thoughts? Thank you. |

| Oh poor Zoey! I just don't have any experience with that at all. If your vet continues to not find anything, you might consider a second opinion. There are so many people here who have weathered all sorts of issues; I'm sure someone has some advice. I'll give this a bump back to the first page of new posts!!

| Did she hit her head when she fell down the stairs? If so, was a neurological exam done? Has she been arching her back, crying, or shaking?

| Definitely sounds like a nerve issue, possibly even a stroke or something.. Does she just fall for no reason...just walking across the floor and stuff?

| Thanks for all the responses. I am not sure if she hit her head and I don't see any shaking. I am wondering if she contracted lyme disease. We have a lot of dear in NJ and my other little one, Jack, was diagnosed a little over a year ago. He received a dose of antibiotics and never exhibited any symptoms. I use the Frontline Plus but it doesn't seem to stop the ticks from getting on them. I am wondering if I should use a tick collar as well. Thanks again, Shashi. |
