| Question: Trowing up and little red dots in it? Gizmo this morning threw up a watery foam with little red dots... it almost looked like licorice.. I am not sure if it is bits of blood possibly? I called our vet and he stated he wanted us to watch him and if he became worse or other symtoms arose to call him. He is still playing pooping normal solid poop and goes out to potty... I came home for lunch time at 11:30 and he did the same kind of throw up again twice... the vets office is closed for lunch so I waited called and they said to take his food away and monitor his behavoir.. does anyone ever seen this type of throw up before? Any idea what it could be? |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Maybe some sort of platic what not you have around (slippers, toys). These stinkers love to eat anything and everything they find.

| little red dots... bits of possibly blood....looks like licorice? sounds like he got into chewing on some kind of red plastic toy or something. is that a possibility? red string? red fuzz from a toy?

| well he seems fine.. to be honest I think it was diluted blood if that makes sense.. what I am thinking is either he stomach became irrirated or maybe he ate something he wasnt supposed to and that is what caused it... after lunch I decided to stay home and called in work so that I could monitor him.. We laid down together , played a little fetch and I didnt allow him to eat anything other than water... after about 5pm, hubby and I went to the pet Organic Pet Store and got him a new bag of Natural Balance Duck & Potato, we thought that maybe something in the other bag might have hurt his tummy or possibly came into contact with something that it shouldnt have.. either way I gave him a little of that kibble and I went ahead and baked him some bland chicken in the oven and shredded it for him.. I gave him a little of that too and he seems to be fine.. we have gone potty just fine and pooped just fine. SO I will keep monitoring him but I hope whatever it was that it passed. Thanks to those that responded I truly appreciate your help and advise! |
