oh what a night! well friday layla has a bit of diahrea.. but just a bit... saturday (yesterday) didn't poop until 11pm.. was nice and firm... well last night we were up every 2 hours.. my poor little girl... it was runny and a bit gooey... this morning i gave her honey (can't find Nutrical to save my life in this city) do you think that will do the trick??? i also gave her rice and egg for breakfast.. she will have some chicken at lunch... i'm so scared.. layla has never been sick like this.. the only good thing is she seems perfectly normal otherwise! full of energy (mom can't say the same.... *yawn*) if anyone else has tips that would be great.. i searched diahrea on here but seemed to come up with everything but! thanks in advance!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I would try some boiled chicken and white rice if she has the runs - When Chanel was sick that's what I gave her - my vet said that's just what he'd have told me and he also gave me some of the bland canned food - Keep an eye on her and make SURE she drinks lots of water or pedialite- good luck !! |

I'm sorry your baby is feeling poorly. My vet prefers honey to nutical, works faster on blood sugar. You can buy pedialyte in any pharmacy. I would go with more rice and less chicken at first. I often give only rice in small portions for a couple of meals and then add chicken. Since I have two with sensitive stomachs, I keep things on hand for emergencies. I also use Gerber's baby rice cereal, mix it with warm water. I feed small meals more often when they are with bad tummies. I hope Layla feels better. Jessica

Be careful with honey. If you do not have Nutri-cal, use use white corn syrup before you use honey. T.

hey jessica.. thanks so much!! honey was all i had.. but layla wasn't crazy about it.. but i did get some in her... other than her diarreha.. you'd never know she is sick... which makes me feel a bit better... today is only day one... last night she went out and had a good firm poop... and a bit of watery stuff after... and i got the pedialyte which she isn't sure about.. but has had some! i hope tomorrow we see an improvement... i'll give it a few days in case it is just something that needs to get out of her system. i don't go to school on wednesdays and so if she is still sick all day tuesday.. i'll bring her in... or if she stops eating and drinking. i can't say thank you enough to everyone who has written... the support is very comforting!
