| my little emma has been throwing up & shaking Emma is 13yrs & she has never thrown up like this, she's been on pregnisone for 3weeks I don't know if that has anything to do with it,after she threw up her lunch she was dry heaving then she was throwing up white foamy spit, she's panting & trembling. It's impossible for her to have gotten into anything I'm very neurotic when it comes to her,my mom had me give her 1/4 of a pepcid but it didn't help.I'm a little freaked out,3weeks ago I had my girlfriend stay w/her I was to be out of town for 2days,she became paralyzed (all four legs) w/in a day,I've only left her a few times years ago, she's recovered almost completely,I haven't left her side in 3weeks &she's been doing really well until this.Any suggestions?I'm desperate, she's my life |

| Call the vet. This is a medical emergency. Also, don't give her anymore human meds unless you know for certain that they are safe for canines (and especially as small as she is). If your vet doesn't take emergency calls, take her to the nearest animal emergency hospital. I have flyers from two different ones posted at all times. Good Luck! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I AGREE !! Don't know why she's on prednisone ...and after reading your post all I can think of is get her to the VET ASAP - if you don't have one open - find an emergency vet - Panting, trembling and vomiting are NOT good for a dog that age - it sounds like she needs medical attention right away. As far as giving her PEPCID - When my Chanel had a tummy problem - my vet gave her ONLY 1/4 of a 1/4 to settle her stomach - but it was only given under a vets advise. So - please - don't give your yorkie anything else without checking with a vet first - it could compound the problem ....Seeing the town you live in (under your user name) you should have no problems finding a vet on the weekend & GOOD LUCK to you - I hope she'll be ok !! |

| sometimes when they are throwing up you have to keep the food and water away for awhile... duke had a spell once and i just monitored him and gave him water a few hours after this last vomit, then rice a few hours later... rice and chicken a little later. he was wanting to eat right after he threw up, only to throw it up again. just had to break the chain and give his tummy time to settle.
