Sad Weird Noises?? Help Plz!!

Coco started makin really weird noises yesterday night, kind of like a scratching your throat noise. And she kept on for a while and wouldn't stop, it almost sounded like she was choking or needed to throw up but nothing was coming up... her nose is also really really cold. Maybe I'm over reacting but I get scared since she's only 9 weeks. Has this happened to u before? Do you know what can be wrong with her??

Ferdinand makes weird noises like that also. His vet said it may be allergies because allergies are common in dogs this time of year, so I've been giving him half a dose of liquid children's benedryl every day. I haven't heard it since I stated giving him the benedryl.

I would talk to your vet.

Diamond will grunt a lot or make a similar noise...she does it A LOT. I notice it more when I pick her up or when she is sleeping and I wake her. I always wondered if it was normal?

Scruffles makes a weird noise when I pick him up. He also snorts and huffs a lot after he drinks water too fast, which is pretty much every time.

I asked my vet about that because Soph only does or did it at night, and she thought it sounded like a case of kennel cough that she was getting over. She very rarely does it anymore, but was worse when I first brought her home.

You need to have her vet checked. This could possibly be collapsed trachea if she is making a honking sound. Did you buy a 6 week old Yorkie form someone or are you the breeder of her ?

Default Just a thought...

From what it sounds like it could be collapsed trachea...Chewy started doing that too and my vet said he has only seen one case where it was really bad... they can go their whole life with this as an annoyance. Chewy does it only once in a while but it scares the heack out of me... when he swallows it gets better... Poor baby.

If it sounds like a snort it very well could just be a reverse sneeze. I rushed Bruce to an emergency clinic at midnite over the same thing and it turned out to be totally okay. I would howerver check with my vet about it.

You need to get the poor baby vet checked and then you will know whatyou are up against. They can make a diagnosis simply if it is collasped trachea.
I lost my Chelsea 1 year ago at age 14 and she had a bad trachea her entire life. At the end we treated her with meds but she was fine except for the episodes her entire life.
When the doggie starts doing that gagging thing try rubbing the top of his head. That usually will relieve the spasm.
Keep us posted, please ! and Good Luck
