| Bladder Issues I have a three year old male Remmy. He is urinating blood. this has been ongoing since Jan. I took him to the vet for frequent urinating and I saw blood in his urine. They put him on antibiotics (baytril) and did an xray not stones on the x ray. We did a follow up and he still had blood in his urine so they put him on steriods for inflamation of the bladder. He has no bladder control anymore he wee wees everywhere. When we went back after the steriods Remmy was still pee pee everywhere like he could not help it...mostly dripple all over the place. Not like he squatted and went. So we did an ultrasound...which showed us nothing. He had a complete urine work up that showed no bacteria or crystals. I have had to put a belly band on him to keep from cleaning urine 24/7. They said might be behavioral and they put him on a drug that made him like a zombie. I wanted to cry everytime I gave it to him cuz he would act so out of it. Now he has blood again in his urine. My vet wants to do another x ray...I have spent over $1000 and she cannot tell me what is wrong with my baby. I feel very sad. I don't want to do anyting else to him...nothing is working. I think I should tell her I need a second opinion. I don't want to offend her but it has been 4 months and he still has the same problems as day one. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I'm sorry to hear that. I would ask for a referral to a specialist at this point. Good luck.

| Remmy has bladder stones...another vet finally found them. Radiolucent stones that are not detectable w/ xray. A dye has to be injected for them to be visible. don't know why my vet did not do this in the very beginning 4months ago. She just kept giving him meds that did not work. Remmy will have to have surgery to remove the stones and I am requesting that a specialist do the surgery not my reg vet. |
