| Nicked his pad Uggghhh! I was trimming his paws and I nicked his center pad. It's been bleeding since about 4:30. Just a little but not seeming to coagulate. I have a gauze pad on it and have it wrapped on. It's now 7:30 but I have not unwrapped it. I feel like such a rotten mommy.

| Poor Deuce. You are not a bad mommy at all! The Quick Stop powder or any other coagulant will work. It burns a bit, but it should stop the bleeding. An antibiotic ointment will be good to use after that.

| Uggghhhh! Thanks guys. I'll put the antibiotic on it new gauze and wrap it tonight. He jumps around then comes by me and wants to be picked up. Right now he's in his crate and not wanting to come out. Talk about a guilt trip for mommy.

| Poor Deuce! If you still need something after getting the bleeding stopped -- Max cracked a pad once and I used Bag Balm, which helped it heal quickly. Our Walmart has it in the pet section, but I bought it at Tractor Supply. I know it is hard not to feel guilty, but things happen. I bumped Max's head on my chair tonight when I was picking him up.

| If you have hydrogen peroxide, the one in the brown bottle, you can use that to disinfect. It doesn't sting, but don't let Deuce lick it bc it might make him nauseated (since it's used to induce vomiting). If you can bandage his paw as tight as you can w/him still being comfortable might help stop the bleeding. Hope he'll feel better soon, they heal very fast. I've nicked Mimi's ear b4 & felt so bad for days, she bled a lot. It took awhile for her to trust me again. Those scissors are sharp! So I only use the economy shears by fromm. Still sharp, but won't cut w/a slight touch.

| It healed overnight but he still is looking at me with that sad face. When I picked him up he just rested his little head in the crook of my neck. There is some hair stuck on the spot since I didn't get to finish trimming the pad. I think I will just let it go for now and keep an eye on it.
