| Kady's foot got stepped on by Dad....HELP! We finaly got our little girl, her name is Kady. Today is the first day that Homer and kady actually were playing for a long time. The two of them had just finished playing so we sat down for some training time. Kady was soo excited because it was the first time she had one of the "train-me-treats", as my husband walked into the kitchen, she ran after him and the next thing we both know she is under is foot. HE STEPPED ON HER TINY LITTLE PAW!!!! She started crying, and hobbled her fastest towards me. I got to her as quickly as I can, she was still crying. So I held her for a minute or two. She stopped crying and I put her down to see if she was able to walk. She was limping a little and when a set one of the treats down she RAN over to it. Now she is laying down on her pillow. I dont know if she is just tired from all of the playing and excitment tonight, or if its because of her paw. My husband feels really bad, (I think he is more in love with her than I am ) What should I do??? Do you think that it is broken??? Should I put ice on it?? I am sooo scared

| It is so sad to see them hurt. But I really think she is fine. She would be in pain when standing on it. If she ran to the treat with no porblem I would think she is ok. My son steped on Gus's paw and he was crying and crying and walking with a limp for an hour or so. I was getting ready to take him in when my husband told me to look at him form up stairs, he was running to the front door when my husband asked him to get the kittie. Up to this day you ask him,, did Timmy hurt you baby,,,,, and the little brat would pick up is paw and give me this sad look. He is too much! I'm sure her paw will be a bit sore. Just watch her. If she has problems walking then I would take her in to get it checked out. Give her a puppy kiss from Gus and tell her he knows how she feels.

| Thanks so much, I will definately be watching her.... She is now all cuddled up on my husbands lap. Homer my other Yorkie baby just decided that she was an okay little girl to play with today, and when Jerod stepped on her and she was crying, Homer was looking at Jerod lik,"Dad why did you do that?" Now that I look back it was soo cute. I thought Jerod was going to cry and Homer looked a little mad at Dad, while I started to have a mini heart attack!

| Hope your baby is okay. These critters can get under out feet quicker than quick. It makes us feel like ax-murderers when we see them limping and crying. But they usually manage to get up and go when the occasion arises. Let us know how she is doing.. |

| Yorkie Shuffle time! We or our dogs have all probably had to learn the hard way and from this we have learned a new way to walk with these little ones...It is called the Yorkie Shuffle because you never pick up your feet. Soon you are walking in public doing it and you don't even know. Hope your little one is fine.

I hope your baby is going to be ok - when you said she ran for her treat I sure felt better - they can be total Drama Queens too - it probably did hurt her... but if she ran - chances are she's going to be just fine - now you can go hug your husband and ease his mind ...and kiss your baby some more... | |

| She has already forgotten! Today I walked in the house after being at work, and low and behold I see my two furbabies (Homer & Kady) curled up with the biggest baby (my husband), the three of them were on the couch with the tv on. I made all of the lazy bums get up and play... Anyways, Kady is doing just fine. I think she has forgotten all about her traumatic expierence last night. I am beginning to think she likes my husband more.... HEHEHE Thanks for all of the posts. Have a Happy and Safe New Years!!!

| I know alot of puppies tend to over react which doesnt help when they are so gosh darn cute My Yorkie was shut in the door accidentally as a puppy. Turns out three years later she got a luxating patella (slipping knee cap) in that leg. Most likely from that accident, but who knows as it could of been genetic. But im sure shes okay since it wasnt the knee that got hurt.

| Oh, I am so sorry your baby got hurt. I agree with previous posts, they can act like Drama Queens when hurt and that makes it harder to know how serious it is. If she is better today then she is probably fine. I have taken my baby to the vet just to be sure . One time she bumped her head and then looked at me just like a child would and then started to cry. |
