| toenail clipped too short! bleeding! hey guys i just wanted to see if anyone could help me out ... we tried clipping Crunchy's nails after his bath a little earlier but cut one of his hind toenails too short. its really freaking me out because it wont stop bleeding. i know theres that medicine 'Quickstop' but dont have any so we tried using baking powder ...which has somewhat worked. he keeps trying to lick at it but that just starts up the bleeding again how long before it stops bleeding? what do i need to do? Help someone please.

| Cinnamon or corn starch will also work to stop the bleeding. Don't worry, it will stop bleeding. Just pack a little on the nail. If he is still messing with it give him something else to distract him.

| I am always so careful when I trim nails - and have to do it more often because I don't take much off. I always feel so bad if too much of the nail is cut because it hurts. And, I think this makes a little dog more afraid to get his nails clipped in the future. I'm sure you got the bleeding stopped by now. I sympathize with you. Carol Jean |

| These big ole men feel so bad when they give the babies an oowie, don't they? My hubby has to hold a dog sometimes so I can do the nails. He will turn his head and make this pained look if I quick a nail. He was a hospital chaplain but you would think he never saw blood..LOL |
