| Cold Symptoms Any advice is welcome!! My 4 month old baby woke up this morning and was fine (kissy faces, tail wagging, etc.). She tinkled and pooped (both normal), but didn't want breakfast - normally looks for it as soon as she wakes up and gets business taken care of. She wanted to be held and curled up into a little ball on my lap. About 15 minutes later she pooped again (GOOD GIRL - on the potty pad!) but it was just yellow mucus. She's been sleeping ever since. She does cough during the night - vet said that it's like "post nasal drip". It turned pretty cold here yesterday and even though I try and keep her warm the floor is a bit chilly. She spends the night in our bed. . . where else would our baby sleep! Might she have caught a cold? Is a call to the vet in order?? Thanks for any responses! This site is positively awesome and you are all so very helpful and supportive of us "nervous mommies"! |

| Sounds like she has a cold to me. You might call your vet just to see if they would want to see her. My dogs are coughing all of a sudden too.

| Yes, call your vet.!!!BUT, have some info ready for them AND a poop sample.! Does she have a fever over 103---normal for Yorkies can be as high as 102+ Is she taking water or other liquids like broth or rice water?? How much does she weigh? What color are her gums? Is she bloated? You have already stated she is lethargic and for these young, small Yorkies, they can go down in a short while. SO, let the vet know how concerned you are and how important it is to you that she be seen. Best of luck and keep us posted.. |
