| 4th or 5th incident and Vet cannot diagnose Hi All, my furbaby Bindi has been having these really weird episodes and its cause is eluding my vet. Bindis eyes get all dilated and its like she cant see. She bumps into walls walks aimlessly, cannot focus on anything. She drools and doesnt keep her mouth closed. she needs her snout wet all the time and keeps standing in her water. she cannot stop walking around the house and is really restless. They have performed a urinalysis which came out clean, blood test which came out clean, and a culture that came out clean. She also had xrays which again, came out clean. She has had this episodes about 4 times now and each time we go the vet has no idea what is wrong. She said next time it happens I will need to see a specialist. So it just started back up and I will all tomorrow to get an appt with this specialist. Any ideas of what it could be? it is really scary and sad to see this happening. she is just 1.5 yrs old and has never had any health issues like this before.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i'm sorry she's having these weird episodes. It might be some sort of seizure. Are you seeing a neurologist or an internalist?

| Benadryl to calm her down??? I just don't know. It doesn't seem like that would do much good unless the vet thinks she is having a reaction to something?

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i really don't think the benadryl will help and honestly i wouldn't have given it to her for something like that. You don't know what is causing the episodes. It probably won't hurt her but i'd definitely see a specialist asap to figure out what's going on. I worked at a vet referral center and we had tons of different specialists all in one building so hopefully if you see one of them and the problem turns out to be something different they can just send you down the hall to one of the other doctors. Where i worked if a pet came into the neurologist for seizures and it turned out to be liver shunt then the internal medicine doctor would just take over the case which would then have to go to the surgeon sometimes for shunt surgery and then back to the internalist.

| I am so very sorry that Bindi is having these episodes. Question -- do they occur 1 to 2 hours after meals? |

did your vet tell you why he chose that particular food? C/D is usually for urinary tract problems, like crystals and stones prevention... I don't get what your vet is doing.

| I'm sorry that you and Bindi are going through this I'd definitely seek out a specialist for sure, and that should've been recommended by your vet after the second or third time this happened. I don't know how must you trust your vet, but if it were me and my furbaby, I'd be looking for a new one It almost sounds neurological to me, in nature, but of course I'm no expert. I hope that it's something not too serious

| Sorry I should have explained further. Around 5-6 months ago she had a uti and the vet thought these symptoms that I've described earlier were die to another uti. Turns out it wasn't though. On a slightly unrelated note I am trying to find a new vet as we have different views on food. She thinks it's horrible that I homecook( though I have since the begining and she's had no issues). She believes dogs should eat dog food only

Next thing I know I'm with this vet

| Have they Bile Acid Tested your baby for liver shunt? Each of these Yorkies react differently to this disease, and some of the symptoms you describe certainly sound like LS. I would definitely run that test on any yorkie, if you haven't. Good luck! |

| Sorry your baby is going through this. The episodes do sound a lot like a dog we had - pacing, going around in circles, bumping into things. He had epilepsy and was treated for it. Hope you have good luck finding a new vet, that can be half the battle. I do think at this point a specialist would be a good idea. Keep us posted - will keep you in prayers.
