| I hope not she was spayed 3 months ago(at 6 months) They did her surgery and called me told me they had to dig around in her that she only had one ovary. They said they looked very closely for the other and couldn't find it. They even gave me a really strong pain pill because they said they did so much digging and they had to make the insision(sp) bigger than normal.

| With all the pain they put my baby through they better hope like hell they didn't just over look her other ovary. Their exact words were she had to have a larger than average insision(sp) because they couldn't find a second ovary, so they had to move a lot around in her so she will be sore.

| I am so sad, mad, and just upset. I arrived at the vets office at 6:35 and they took me right away. They did a vaginal smere and beleive Lexi is in heat . She has to go Sat morning for a progesterin blood test. If that comes back high then she will have another on Mon. and if it is high she will be respayed and have her to baby K-9 teeth pulled (I already had the appointment for her teeth) on Tuesday. . They want to do the surgery while she is in heat or right after so that the ovary is larger. I'm not really blaming my vet, I know her and 2 other vets did their best to find the other ovary, I'm just angry that this happened to my baby. I feel so aweful for putting her through another spay. I want to hit one of them so bad. I'm not sure I can go through with this. They said if I don't that she has a higher risk of breast cancer.(is this true?) If so and she got cancer I would never beable to forgive myself. If they open her back up they better find the other ovary or you all will be reading about me in the paper. I'll be the crazy lady that beat up the vets at Arnold Animal Hospital.(and that's putting it nicely) Anyway, I'm now rambling if you have any advice please share it. Oh yeah and by the way I'm not paying a dime for the test done the spay or her baby teeth being pulled.

| Oh no, poor baby girl and poor you!! I have also heard from my vet that spay and neuter reduce the risk of cancer. But gracious, to have to do it twice is just awful. So they are doing everything for free? If so, that is fantastic!

| Poor Lexi I know you must be going through hell right now, but I have a story that might make you think somethings just "happen". We had a female Yorkie mix several years ago. She found us. And she was pregnant. Ok, so she had her puppies---3 of them, all completely different from the others! Took her to the vet after the pups were weaned. He spayed her, but he too could only find one of her ovaries! So, life went on. She came back in heat after about 6 months. She got bred by the neighbors dog. Completely by accident!! And no puppies!! This happened for quite a long time. She'd come in, just like normal, breed with whoever she chose and not have to worry about the after effects. She had a ball!! And she was always sooo proud of herself after she got bred! |
