Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Ewww.............should I be worried? So, I just found Halle with what was left of a dead mouse in her mouth. Talk about being grossed out! I assume she found it outside cuz that is where she had just come from. My concern is whether she caught it & killed it or if it was already dead from poison or something. Physically she seems okay so far, but I'm a bit concerned, mostly because I'm a worry wart. Anybody got any ideas on whether I should be concerned or not or what I should watch for?

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | I the rat ate mouse poison youll know. I once had a springer that got into snail bait. Poor thing puked and puked. The vet saved her though. Halle? Go figure...I would expect that more from the boys. Hope everything turns out ok and it was just yucky. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | OMG, it wasn't a rat!!! Just a tiny mouse, which grosses me out enough, dead or alive. And to think my sweet baby girl had it in her mouth. Unthinkable. I couldn't even go near her.......made hubby brush her teeth. It'll be a while before I let her give me any kisses.

| Wow... thought we were the only ones! This spring alone Gracie has found 2 mice that have died in our yard over the winter. She has picked all three of them up and brought them to us. She always drops them when we tell her to so she didn't eat any of it. I would just watch to make sure there isn't any reaction. (I'm a worrying kind of person too... Let's just say she hasn't been allowed in that area of the lawn since!) |

| Rose, I think since you are not for sure what happened you should call the vet and see what they suggest. I have heard that they will puke if poisoned, but who knows what else it could carry besides rat poison. Hope this helps and keep me posted!

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | I just called the e-vet. They said to watch her for puking, diareaha, or getting lethargic. Said that wouldn't start right away, but after whatever she MAY have eaten had time to digest. So we'll be watching her close. Please say some prayers that Halle will be fine and it was just a disgusting experiance that I hope never happens again.

| I certainly hope your baby is going to be ok. What the heck is she thinking? That's gross! Why do they have to do gross stuff like this? They are way to cute to be getting into anything dead (or alive) What the heck? Saying a prayer for your little one. Keep us updated.

| I found 2 bird legs in my house yesterday. Very gross. Lola had a frog in her mouth one time and of course they like mice. Just dont use poison, I use ole faithful Old fashion mouse traps that smacks them on the head...But always away from my pets... |

I am happy to report that Miss Halle seems like her old self this morning so far. I am hoping that any reaction that she would have had from the disgusting mouse incident would have affected her by now. We haven't had breakfast yet, but I am confident from the way she is acting herself, that she will have a hearty appetite when it's time for breakfast. Thank you everybody that replied with your suggestions and concerns & prayers.
