| Kennel Cough Hello Everyone, I have a 10 week old female puppy that I got from a Kennel, she was shipped and has kennel cough , she's enrolled in a wellness plan and is on antibiotics, but was unable to continue with her shots, till the cough goes away....I been reading about it, and pretty much is a waiting game, does anyone out there have any advise?? also, any advise on potty training, she's a brat and likes to chew on the training pads..... Thank you Chloe's momma. |

You can also get those vicks shower soothers or the mental bath salts and use them while you shower/bathe and just bring her into the bathroom with you.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | The antibiotic won't do anything for the cough...they are given as a preventative measure against pneumonia only.

| oh she'll be fine- it's like having a cold- the antibiotics are to prevent it from developing into pneumonia (very serious for our tiny pups) so the kennel cough has to run its course... like i said.. can take months for it to go away. |

| I understand ... My two guys just are getting over it It's a virus so like everybody has said antibiotics are a preventative measure and it needs to run it's course My never really coughed but would sneeze and you could hear the congestion esp after they would wake up from sleeping They caught theirs after their visit to the Vet of all places But if you watch them make sure they are eating not getting diarrhea or vomiting they pull thru But it can get serius if pneumonia sets in

| Well of course a vet visit would be good...They will give you antibiotics. I would buy a warm mist humidifier with vicks...It helps out alot during the night........My lil one has had the cough for 3 months...At first when I brought it home it was terrible, but when I took him to vet and with warm mist. Its gone from 4 times coughing per day to 3 coughs per week....So like the vet said they are like humans you just have to wait for it to go away. As long as she eats okay and is playing she should be okay |

| Walker just got diagnosed with it. He picked it up at the German vet when he had his surgery there. I think its one of those things that bothers us more than them. As he coughs up a lung and then goes on playing like nothing happened. I found the menthol in the shower thing works quite well. As long as he's on the preventative antibiotics he'll be fine eventually. I have a question though, should you sanitize and clean all their stuff? I washed all his blankets and the floor but after it finally goes away is he going to get it again because I didn't clean the house well enough? |

| I hope she gets well soon... I've had Kobi for 3 weeks now, we got him from a breeder in MI, as soon as he flew in, I noticed he had a bad cough so I took him to the vet only to find out he has bronchitis. So he's been taking antibiotics and cough medication for 3 weeks now. He's slowly recovering... |
