| I have no experience with it but it can cause serious blood sugar issues. The vet did keep her there, right?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hopefully she didn't have it in her long enough to do any damage. I've had to induce vomiting before. My son left a "Sugar Free Tic-Tac" container laying on his floor. Reno came carrying it in to me - EMPTY - and he had chewed the label off so I couldn't tell if they contained Xylitol or not. I gave him peroxide to make him get sick....let me tell you - it works! Poor Reno - turns out, the Tic Tacs don't contain Xylitol, but I couldn't take the chance that they did. To make matters worse, my son told me the container had been empty already Keep us updated know how Willow is doing.

Yes, Hydrogen Peroxide is what to give in A emergency . She puked up so much Chocolate that it left me hysterical. I hope your baby is going to be ok from the Orbit. That stuff is toxic to little dogs.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | gum dogs, and xylitol The vet took bloodwork, and I am awaiting the results. I am so nervous. Thank god i caught this. I hope her liver wasn't affected. Articles say 2 pieces for a 20lb dog are lethal. and she is 5 lbs and had almost 4 pieces. i am sick to my stomach. |

| We had that happen to us. Mimi got into my friends purse and ate some of the orbit gum she had in there. I think she ate 2 peices but we went ahead and induced vomiting right away because that is what the ER said to do. So I watched her all night and she was fine. Normally if its going to affect her you will start to notice symptoms within 15 mins. Just make sure her gums are pink..that is one of the signs. My poor friend was so sad and was blaming herself and I kept telling her it wasn't her fault....Had I seen where she put her purse I would have told her to put it up but I was painting. Now she leaves her purse in her car when she comes over. |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Gum and Dogs well...thank god willow was ok. the vet said we saved her life by bringing her in. they pumped her stomach and also gave her a shot to induce vomiting. thank you for all of your notes and messages. also, pass along the info how harmful gum is for dogs...if i didn't get a forward about it 2 months ago, it would have gone unnoticed and willow would not be here. tell people to google xylitol and dogs. it can save their dog's life |
