| My puppy has a cough....Help, advice please!! Ok so this may be a long story....ok so Bandit is only 11 weeks old and he doesn't have all of his shots yet....today my parents had a cook out that we had to attend and my sister is dog sitting for a friend and she brought her with them. Well I didn't want the two to play because Bandit doesn't have his shots and I didn't want him to get sick....well finally everyone convinced me that it would be ok....so I said fine and let them play a little bit well then I noticed that the dog had a cough so I took Bandit away....well now he is coughing and sneezing a little....His personality is fine but the cough is what worries me. Should I take him to the vet on Tuesday when they open back up or is this nothing? I don't want my baby to be sick....I shouldn't have given in to letting them play. I just felt so bad that I couldn't let Bandit down and have fun. I was so mad at my sister for bringing that dog over knowing I had a new puppy and was going to have him there considering we are living here temporarily. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong or what I should do?? Maybe I am overreacting but I think I have a right to since I dont know this dog...by the way it is a chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. |

| Here is a link where you can read about Kennel Cough. It tells you signs and symptoms to look for, maybe it will help you determine whether your little one has it. Kennel Cough (Infectious Tracheobronchitis) in Dogs I would call the vet. Let us know how he's doing. I hope he gets better soon!

| Anything not right in a puppy so young can potentially become serious quickly. If he acts sick at all tomorrow you shouldn't wait for your regular vet to open on Tuesday and get him to the emergency vet. I agree with the others. It sounds like he may have picked up kennel cough. |

| My first guess would be kennel cough too. I'm have never had a dog w/ kennel cough though. It sounds like if Bandit did get it from the other dog, it certainly came on fast! I hope he's feeling OK and the cough stops. If it isn't completely gone by tomorrow, I'd take him in to the vet. Good Luck sweet and for Bandit.
