| wires and cables Does anyone have a yorkie that bites on cables and wires?? What have you done to get him/her to stop? My Lola loves biting on cables and wires. She sneaks away and "works on" certain spots and keeps at it till the wire is kaput. What's the best way to get her to stop? I have tried bitter apple and that only works sometimes. Lola doesn't seem to mind it too much. She has already broken one massage bed and now she's working on the cord to my portable AC unit!! Please Help! |

| I think puppies will chew anything so it's best if you get them out of her reach. She could get really hurt. Simon would try to chew on cords when he was a baby so I ended up putting them up where he couldn't get to them. They also make plastic protective covers for wires that you might try. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali was terrible with the phone wires and computer wires so we had to bury the wires we could under the carpeting and block off those we couldn't and watch her like a hawk. She did grow out of it pretty much. I bought these things called critter cords but never got around to putting them on! Bitter apple and nothing else worked. I hope you can find something that does help.

| Elle has been horrible at chewing on wires. She ruined my DSL wire and therefor I had to purchase a new one to be able to get online. I redid all the cables running from the phone and computer. And what I couldnt conceal, I taped up on the wall. She can't see em or reach em.

| At just about any hardware store you can buy a harder plastic tube that is flexable to put your wires in. Keeps wires looking neat, plus a barrier for the little chewers!! I'm not sure what it is called, but the hardware people know.

| Sadie used to do it some. I used bitter apple. She grew out of it, though & I don't have that problem with her anymore.

| You can rub bar soap on the wires too! It worked with cooper (just make sure it's non-toxic of course)

| We bought new computer desks that have door on them so that we can close them up when we are not on the computers! I'll have to ask Suz where we got them, I can't remember. |

| The puppies have almost destroyed the antenna on my wireless adaptor card. I also found that my webcam cable was chewed in half. Fortunately the little dudes are almost through the terrible chewing stage. |

| Stump chewed through the Christmas Tree Light's cord during Christmas time and I think he shocked himself. I remember hearing his yelp really loud and I thought he maybe hit a branch as he came out from under the tree, and then that night I noticed the lights had stopped working... then the cord had been split in half and had the tiniest bite marks. He ended up being fine. Same day he broke my phone charger. I think he mainly outgrew it, we just tried keeping everything away from him. |
