| Bad News The breeder I got Little Dewey from called last night and told me Dewey's Dad had past away (Seabiscuit). Dewey's mother, dad and mothers sister all got sick. He carried them to the emergency room but two of them died on the way. His mother is o.k. He was using Diamond feed. So he now only has the one Yorkie. He wants me to postpone getting Dewey neutered so he can get another female and breed them. I don't know what I will do. Here are two pictures of Dewey Born 6-20-05. R.I.P. Seabiscuit |

| OH no!! Where is the breeder from? How awful!!!!!!!!! I sure hope this food producer has to pay some penalties to all the people who are losing dogs from their product. This is so horrifying...

| That's horrible news. People have been posting the warning about Diamond on here for awhile now, but who in the world would ever go to Diamond pet food's web site to check for warnings? There must be others than these to have gotten sick and passed.

| Gus's dad also passed last year and my breeder was very upset because they never did keep one of his males. I would be more then willing to let them use Gus but he had already been fixed. That is so sad. Is your little guy ok? Was it something they got after you puppy left home with you?

| That's really aweful! I'm so sorry to hear that. Didn't the breeder hear about the recall?

| You could stud him out and ask for one of the pups in exchange for it.

| I got Dewey when he was 10 weeks old in August. The breeders dogs all got sick on Tuesday and passed on Wednesday. He did not know about the recall. They told him about it at the hospital. |

| The reason the breeder wants me to stud Dewey is because he is the end of the line for his blood line outside of his grandfathers breeder. Dewey's grandfather made champion, so those breeders will not sell from that line anymore. They sold Seabiscuit before he became champion. They tried to buy Seabiscuit back but he would not sell him. He wants to have the bloodline back again. I don't know what to do. Dewey was setup for neutering on Friday 1-6-2006. |

| How terrible! I am so thankful I wasn't giving Maddie that dogfood. Actually, I'd never even heard of it and glad that I hadn't! How sad that he has lost two yorkies due to some bad food!

| I do not know thehistory of your boy but it sounds as if he comes from solid breeding background. I would advise that you have a really knowledgeable person look at him and see if he is truly breed quality or a wonderful pet. If he is not exceptional then you might not want to have him used as stud just to get the line going again. OMG, I cannot imagine having any of mine die possibly due to the food. I have fed BLUE Diamond in the past but don't feed it now. Is it the same thing? There is a lot to consider before deciding whether or not to use him as a stud. One thing is that he might not be the little male pet you have now. Pat and I talk about that a lot. Males can become major markers.. I am so sorry to hear about the deaths of the Yorkies. I swear, I am near tears ow just thinking about it. BUT, remember, you are not OBLIGATED to allow him to be used if you decide not to..Was he the only male in the litter?? Are there other choices? I do want to say this--you can always put off his neutering til you have had a chance to think this thru and gotten past the emotional part..you will be in our thoughts while you work thru this huge decision... |

| He was not the only male. He had a brother and sister. His brother has been nutered already. This was his dad's first litter. I don't know if Blue Diamond is the same food or not. I don't want Dewey to start marking. He is six months old and has not had an accident in the house in 4 1/2 weeks. But he is starting to stick his little hind leg out every once in a while when he pees on his pad. If he starts marking my wife will kill me. |
