I do not know thehistory of your boy but it sounds as if he comes from solid breeding background. I would advise that you have a really knowledgeable person look at him and see if he is truly breed quality or a wonderful pet. If he is not exceptional then you might not want to have him used as stud just to get the line going again.
OMG, I cannot imagine having any of mine die possibly due to the food. I have fed BLUE Diamond in the past but don't feed it now. Is it the same thing?
There is a lot to consider before deciding whether or not to use him as a stud. One thing is that he might not be the little male pet you have now. Pat and I talk about that a lot. Males can become major markers..
I am so sorry to hear about the deaths of the Yorkies. I swear, I am near tears ow just thinking about it. BUT, remember, you are not OBLIGATED to allow him to be used if you decide not to..Was he the only male in the litter?? Are there other choices?
I do want to say this--you can always put off his neutering til you have had a chance to think this thru and gotten past the emotional part..you will be in our thoughts while you work thru this huge decision...
