| ![]() OK...a lot of you know that my two sweet angels have had periods of destroying their pads. They are so good about using them MOST OF THE TIME, but for whatever reason, they get on a roll (that usually lasts days at a time) where they absolutly DESTROY their pads. I am talking about within minutes of me changing them. I have sprayed them(the pads not the puppies) with bitter apple. I have put them(the puppies this time) in time outs....I have even swatted their little butts! If they happen to leave the pad long enough to do any business on it...this is no deterrent to shredding later. Then I not only have shreded pads, pee and poo to clean, but my girls then need baths!!! Not to mention the house stinks!! I have purchased the holders for them (believe me I have tried many things). Nothing works for long. So now I am ready to buy the washable pee pads. Can anyone tell me how well they work? AND where can I find them? I am going a little nuts!

| ![]() I started used a product called "Pish Pads" with my Maltese, Biscuit about a year ago and have been using them with Muffin since she came home 2 months ago. My dogs love them. The Pish Pads were developed by two Maltese breeders and they are WONDERFUL!! They are easy to use and ultimately much more economical than the disposable pads and they can't rip them to shreds either! The pads come in rolls and you just cut them to whatever size you want. They are felt-like material on the topside and plastic on the underside. You just throw them in the washing machine and dry them in the dryer. I don't know how to do a link but the web site is www.pishpads.com. |

| ![]() I buy mine from www.valethics.com and they are wonderful. I was tired of my Biewers tearing the pads. With all the toys, you'd think they would leave the pads alone. Since using the washable pads, the pads stay put.

| ![]() We bought some washable from http://www.piddlepads.com/ and love them. We have had them for about 6 months now and they are still great. We purchased the plaid type and bought 12....it was an investment at first but the money we are saying is great and they come in different sizes....but we got the smaller plaid size and they are the same width as the disposible ones but they are longer.

| ![]() I read all the links to the "pee pads" here. Personally, I use the "old towel" method. I have a ton of old towels and they seem to work just fine for me. I start usig them when the pups are about 3 weeks old. Just put a couple of towels in their space. They figure it out. There's a spray that is supposed to incourage them to go where YOU want them to go. I just watch where THEY want to go and put a towel there. Works for me! And they're washable. Suz

| ![]() Bella was a shredder also... found the washable ones on ebay... they work really well for us....just DO NOT add fabric softener.... the urine just rolls off and doesn't absorb into the pad.... |

| ![]() LIFE SAVER ANYONE??? I will never go back to paper again! lol These are fabulous... I already washed and reused and they work wonders!!! There is no more paper to clean up and they know where to go! ![]() GO CLOTH EVERYONE!!! Save yourself money and time. The upfront cost maybe more than you want to spend but you will save $100s upon $100s if this is your primary source of potty traning! I am sold 100%! ![]() Raechelle

| ![]() I just bought something last night that works has a washable pee-pad. In the baby section they have absorbant burp rags. You get 3 in a package and they are 12" X 13.5" (so a little small) and washable and they were only 3.19 for a package (at meijers). Logan used one while we were at work this morning and it worked perfectly. And you can tell he tried to shred it and got no where. They are quite a bit cheaper than other washable pee pads I've seen.

| ![]() Pixie MUCH prefers her washable pads to the disposables I was using. I got mine from piddlepads.com, I think they're very well made. They have a vinyl backing so there's no leaking. We were having issues with her not wanting to use the disposables. She would piddle anywhere in the house when she was let free, and if she made any attempt to go near them at all, she would go next to it instead of on it. The only thing she used the disposables for were for shredding!!! By day 2 of using disposable pads, "housebreaking" is 5 times better already. I don't know if it suddenly clicked her little head that she's to potty on these or what. But she's hitting the middle of pad every time, all the time. She even stops playing, goes to the pad, does her duty, and comes running back (she had NEVER done this until after I got these pads). I'm not saying these things are a God sent miracle... but they've made my life a lot easier.... I bought some puppy training spray to help show her it was okay to potty on them (I think she thought it was just another rug before that). I just rinse them out very well in the utility sink before throwing them in the washer. Like NewYorkieMa said, the cost up front may be a bit more, but in the long run, it's saving a TON of money (especially if your puppy is like mine and just shreds the disposables and then pees next to it!!) Listen to me... I should contact PiddlePads.com to see if I can become their spokesperson. I love these things! |
