| ![]() I have been thinking of changing Kayah's diet since she is so overweight and everyone's always talking about the raw diet.. Can someone Please Please explain to me what exactly is a raw diet, how does it work, and what do you have to do?? Also, what are the pros and cons that come along with it? I would really like to try this with Kayah.. I just have no idea where to begin ![]()

| ![]() Well, there are tons of threads on here about the raw diet and I would suggest doing a search and you can read a lot from people who are more knowledgeable than I am. But I just switched Zoe to a raw diet and we use Natures Variety which is a premade raw dog food. It is frozen and they look like little hamburger patties. They are obviously uncooked. I just thaw and cut them up and put them in her dish. Others feed actual raw meat including the bones which are really good for their teeth. I haven't gotten up the nerve to try that yet. I'm told that their coats benefit from the raw and they have smaller/less frequent stools which I have found to be true. Good luck! |

| ![]() you CANNOT feed kibble when you feed raw... and you feed twice a day.. i think... the bag says how many medallions your pup should eat (depending on their weight).. Layla is 6 lbs and i think it is 2 medallions... and you can divide that into how many feedings you want |

| ![]() Did you try another flavor? Murphy is doing very well on the venison. I also noticed they sell trial size bags. I bought a trial size bag of the chicken/turkey. Don't want to spend the money if he doesn't like it. Good Luck.

| ![]() I went to their website and it says that for her weight right now, to feed her 3 medallions.. a day? that's it??! Even a gerbil wouldn't feel full with 3 medallions.. especially if that's all I'm gonna be feeding her.. Also, do they eat it raw unfrozen.. or are you suppposed to cook it?
