So If we take our motorhome,. is there a place to park it close by where the meet up will be.. if anyone knows of some, please let me know..I would love to plan on going also..

I have heard the one in Kissimmee is in a rough area, that is what I read on the net. There is a new one in Dr. Phillips that seems like it would be great as well and A LOT closer to the Tampa folks.

Well I vote that we rule out Mills Slough then based on the above post. Not into rough areas.

Downey Park didn't get a very good review here- http://www.orlandodogparks.com/dog_p...al_florida.php. Reecee's Mom, would you mind taking a look at it since you've been there and letting us know if you think it is accurate? Other than that, I'd say we go to West Orange since it's the only other one anyone has first hand knowledge of.

Hi All:

I live in Orlando, FL and my Yorkie and I are part of a Yorkie meetup group that meets every third Saturday of each month....our next date is February 16 at 11:00 a.m. and we will be meeting this time at Paw Park in Sanford, FL.
After the meetup, many Yorkies and their moms/dads go to a little doggie boutique around the corner and hang out some more.

We are going to be alternating the locations every month as we have people that travel from all over Central Florida to be a part of this awesome group.
We normally have anywhere from 15+ Yorkies in attendance.

It's really cool!

FYI: I believe Fleet Peoples park is an off-leash park, with a lake.... I never take Squirt there b/c it's off leash with big dogs, and you never know if a Gator or water moccasin is lurking in any Florida body of water!!!

I have heard good things about the West Orange dog park, and someone in our group suggested we try it one month....

Would be great to see more Yorkies and their "human pets" there !!!!

I don't know how far that is from Tampa, but it sounds good to me. What are we going to do as far as meeting time? Also, is anyone planning a place for us all to eat afterwards?

AND....as far as those of you staying in hotels, which ones are you planning on staying in? I'm trying to figure out if I should stay the night or just drive over for the day.

I think I'm goona try and locate some dog botiques areound the area of the park as well..

I was going to stay over night but I want to bring all 3 dogs and Gracie is awful in hotels so I'm going to make it a day trip.
