THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! ive really been worried about it........ toby doesnt do it 7 times a day, more like 3 or so...... the vet said it was a cold, but it sounds an awful lot like the reverse sneezing (but then again the reverse sneezing and the trachial collapse have the SAME SYMPTOMS!!!!)..... what can i say, im a nervous new mommy i havent had to do the 'puppy thing' for a long time, and im still getting to know him so i dont exactly know what IS normal for him..... but thank you for youre response, you have alleviated my fears that he was doing it more than he needed to be

It's okay to worry, you could take Toby to another vet for a second opinion as well...

reverse sneeze my pup may be doing this, but i dont know exactly what it sounds like. i would also be able to count how many times he does this monthly, not daily. for example, most nights he goes right to sleep....BUT for some reason other nights are different. it sounds as if my yorkie is taking deep breaths inward...kinda like a hiccup sound, but not really. he's done this a total of 3 or four times over the past 3 months. one night he was doing "whatever" so much...i rushed him to the emergency vet (this was at 4 AM!!!). as soon as we walked in the vet he stopped! go figure! the vet said it may be reverse sneezing, but it was hard to say b/c she didnt actually witness him doing anything. to make situations worse...he had a yellowish vomit afterwards. i am really scared. i hope he's okay. he hasnt done it since that day (which was about a month ago now)....but its just nerve-racking b/c i paid $85 for the vet to tell me he's perfectly healthy. someone please help. is that reverse sneezing?

I'm glad I found this thread. I know someone who has a Fox Terrier that is around 10 years old, and it has always done the reverse sneeze thing. I had never heard of it before, so now I know it is a real thing. ha What causes it?? I guess it is not dangerous since her dog has done it for so long. hmmmm

My Emma is 4 months old. I think what she is doing is reverse sneezing, but I almost took her to the vet today. She has been doing it for about the past month. She might not do it at all, and other times maybe 2-3 times per day. This morning she did it about 4 times before I left for work. It doesn't seem to bother her, but it does me!!!!

With Sasha it depends. Sometimes she'll go without doing it for weeks and then suddenly she'll do it, but it only lasts acouple seconds. It doesn't happen frequently at all.

I didn't vote, as sometimes my yorkie will go all day without doing it, and other days it's almost constant

| I voted 1-3 times a day, but really it's only about once a week or so that one of them will do it. Through the years I have discovered that if they breathe through their mouth, it stops. So when one of them 'reverse sneezes', I open their mouth and once they breathe in, it usually stops.
