Question 2009 Annual Yorkie Talk Meet-up Location Poll

As was determined last year by the polling process; this year the 1st Annual YT Meet-up was held in Kansas City - centrally located within the US. For 2009, we are looking for either a West Coast or East Coast destination. The following cities are being listed by the committee as they are:

1. very dog friendly
2. within 50 miles of a major airport
3. easily accessible from surrounding areas
4. allow affordable options

Whichever coast is not selected for 2009 will be the coast the meet-up will be held on in 2010. The tentative weekend date for 2009 is June 27/28.

Please only cast your vote if you are serious about attending the 2009 meet-up, even if the location you choose is not selected.

This poll will remain open for 7 days only and you may select only one city!!!

Great choices! I was torn between Alexandria (so many dog-friendly things to do) and Savannah (one of my favorite dog-friendly spots on the East Coast), but selected Alexandria (not because its closer) because Savanna can be really, really hot and humid in late June. Wherever you choose, it's bound to be a great event! This is so exciting!

We choose NC because the area is just SO beautiful and it's closest to us... not sure Lay could do the flight out to CA or Washington

I voted for Savannah, but I would really love to go to any of the cities listed!

If Savannah is choose as the location for the 2009 meetup, I would like to offer my assistance in helping plan. I'm only about 45 minutes away, so I could do anything you needed me to.

I've got a favorite on each coast...I'm going to wait to vote a while though. I really just wanted to post so I'd be subscribed to this thread and it would be easier to find again LOL

I wish I could vote, but I won't be able to attend. There's no way I can fly with Sadie (or afford to for that matter!)

I forgot to put it in my first post-

But thanks to the committee for trying to do things fairly and pick the best cities. There were a few cities mentioned in the thread that I would have not paid to go visit, but I have to say that from the cities y'all chose, I would really love to go visit any of them and I will be attending YT meetup '09 no matter what city is choosen if I am able to take off work. If its on the west coast, I'm going to start saving $$$ to fly out.

thanks for posting the poll. I was surprised by some of the choices, and surprised by some that weren't on here - especially given all the suggestions on the other thread - but all in all I think these are decent choices. And I hope I will be there next summer to meet more wonderful YTers

I voted for Charleston. I guess because it is not as big as Savannah and probably wouldn't be as "busy". We have been talking about an East Coast "Lighthouse tour" vacation... and we could include the meetup as part of our vacation next year.

Actually, LA is only about 100 miles North of San Diego (depending where in the San Diego area) and Hollywood is before LA.

There were a few cities eliminated simply because they will not be cost effective and also cost a forture to park a car, and a few cities were not selected as they are too far from a major airport which means anyone flying would also have no choice but to rent a car. We're trying to keep things as economical as possible
