| mine are on raw and also i give them orijen six fish once or twice a week. they love it and do really well on it. My Vet said i don't need to worry about the protein level since my babies are super healthy and don't have liver issues. protein should be major part of their diet anyway..

| Lacy's on Nature's Variety Raw medallions. I think one of the best grain-free dry/canned food on the market is Nature's Variety Instinct (which isn't listed). I do not like high protein dry foods though...I recommend canned or raw because moisture is so important.

| Wow - I'm surprised! We were told that our yorkies could develop kidney problems with too high of a protein food. We placed them on the lowest protein diet we possibly could. Maybe this is okay for pups, but for older dogs, I'm not sure this is a good idea. Interesting poll. |

| Dog's are carnivores - they were designed to kill prey and eat it - meat, bones and organs - high protein. A low protein diet is not natural and should only be used for dogs with certain health problems such as liver disease. Dogs were not meant to eat a high carb diet. They can not digest grains, fruits, and veggies well. Many dogs are developing diabetes, allergies, cancer, bladder/kidney stones, and other health issues because of these high carb, low protein commercial dog foods

| We love Nature's Variety, even though we have to drive almost an hour to get it!
