My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Wireless Internet in your home? Does anyone know if I can have wireless Internet in my home using Satellite Internet? I have Wild Blue Satellite Internet thru Dish Network. Would I just need to buy any wireless router? |

And, if you have to buy a wireless router, DON'T buy a wireless router from Belkin brand. I had a defective one, and after literally 9 hours off and on with their tech support, I returned the darned thing! You can't get a live person in the US-everyone on their support lines are in India/Sri Lanka, and they're rude, hard to understand, and won't listen to what your actual problem is-they just put you through the "canned" speech and steps each time. Just my experience, and it wasn't a good one!

| I don't know. We have dish network, but not internet. Didn't even know that they had it. We have Bellsouth (AT&T) and my computer is on a wireless router. |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hey girl...my hubby is a Senior Network Specialist/PC Tech and I read him your question and he said that yep....any brand Wireless Router will work Although, he recommends the WRT54G from Linksys which is reasonably priced and decent for home use. We actually have wireless internet ourselves, although ours is internal and not from satellite. Same concept though - it's all wireless If you have any other questions, just let me know girl. I promise you that when it comes to computers, or ANYTHING computer related...there literally isn't ANY question that my hubby doesn't know the answer to lol

| We actually have two wireless connections. We have cingular wireless and also a new one that a friend of my daughters put up. It looks like a little radar satalite thingie. Works great. If you are interested, pm me and I will let you know what it's called.....and it is inexpensive. |

| We don't use satellite, but we have our very own in house wireless network with 4 to 6 compters connected at any one time. Our internet provider is Bellsouth and we have had good luck with their service. Before that we used Earthlink and had good service as well, but they were ripping us off as far as "add on" charges were concerned. |

| All you need is a wireless router, but make sure you buy a good one, or all you'll have is problems.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Ok cool !!! So even though I have Satellite Internet, I can still go wireless, simply by buying a wireless router? So if I bought a wireless laptop, and still wanted my desktop hooked up, how would I do that? Could both be hooked into my Satelitte internet???? |
