| Kitchen decor? So, we finally found an apartment and I'm totally stuck on how I want to decorate the kitchen. I like country & shabby chic. I was kinda thinking cherries/apples with red gingham. How is your kitchen decorated? Show me pictures if you want

| Some people have different versions of what they call country, I don't really call mine country but it does have some old things that have a country feel...like the ice cube tongs that holds the paper towels, the porcelain canisters that holds the flour under the island, the reproduction clock that appears to have seen better days...I found most of my stuff at antique stores but now w/ E-bay it's so much easier to shop around...it's so fun putting together a room have fun. .

| We moved from a large house with a big kitchen and lots of windows to a little house with a tiny kitchen with no windows. I tried to keep it light without being too white. White works well with natural light but it too bright otherwise. A friend of mine has a tiny kitchen in her condo in South Haven, MI. She had the 1/2 size Dish Washer. When we re-did the kitchen here we found one and it fit great. On the wall oposite the sink we put in a small counter with 3 stools for the grandkids to sit and eat. They love it. We have a small breakfast nook and I wanted to use our boat pictures. The wall was in terrible shape so I covered it with boats and the lake.

Ooh I really like this one, too. I didn't know they made 1/2 size dishwashers!!! I'll have to try and find one...we were going to buy the counter-top one, but they're really bulky and I love to cook so I need my counter space. I thought about getting a microwave cart to put it on, but I can't find one that's big enough.

| It's great for the 2 of us. It really holds alot. My daughter had one in a duplex that they lived in and for the 4 of them they ran it once a day. Here's the link http://www.frigidaire.com/products/d...roductlist.asp We were in Lowe's and asked if they had one and the guy got a funny look on his face and said "come here". In the back they had one that came in for a customer and was white. The customer ordered black. The manager told the salesperson to get rid of it for cost. We got it for $152.00. SOLD. Frigidaire is the only company that we found that offered it at that time.

| OK, here's one more thing. I love to cook also and this is the 3rd house that I"ve had hubby rip out the SS shallow double bowl sink and replace it with a single bowl sink. This sink is 29"X18" & 9 1/2" deep. It will hold platters, cookie sheets, Izzy & I can stand to give the York's a bath. I have also had the pull out faucet/sprayer in each house and they're wonderful.

| My sister has apples all through hers. It's really cute. When I lived in Mich I thought about the grape theme, because of all the winerys. Now if Florida so I stuck with the nautical theme.
