| Soldiers in Iraq need the public's help to make a difference One of my Aunt's here in Ohio has sent this to all of our family trying to get the word out. I got permission to cross post here and I am asking for all of you to share it with all of your friends! I am posting her entire email. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I read a letter to the editor in the Times Reporter recently that impressed me very much. I wrote to the author and got her permission to pass her message along. I thought this was such a worth while project that I wanted to let as many people as possible know about it! Gail Here is what was in the paper: To the Editor: My name is Spc. Stephanie Correll and I am a medic in the Army. I am from Dover and currently in Mosul, Iraq, with the 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4/1 CAV. Some soldiers and myself want to do what we can to make a difference while we?re here. We have started a blanket drive to help the homeless people and orphan children of Mosul. Spc. Steve Stephens got the idea after visiting an orphanage four months ago and saw so many children suffering from the cold because they did not have heat or anything to keep them warm. We?re trying to show people that we really do care about the Iraqi people and we are trying to make a difference here. If you would like to help, please e-mail me at Stephanie.correll@us.army.mil and I will make arrangements to contact you and give you any information you would like. We can use all the help we can get and we greatly appreciate the support. To donate a blanket, you can go to www.blankets.com . Simply click on Donate A Blanket, then click the soldier icon. It only costs $8.50 per blanket. Spc. Sthphanie Correll, 27th BSB, 4/1 CAV, Dover Here is an e-mail that those who have donated already got today. Greetings from Northern Iraq! Thank you for your support and donations over the past 4 months. As a collective group you represent 25 states and over 876 donated blankets for Iraqis in need. Also, the price of the blankets has dropped to $6.50 apiece, and blankets.com has compensated for previous purchases. With less than two months remaining in the drive, we could use your help in the following challenge. NO, IT IS NOT TO DONATE MORE BLANKETS! It is however, to help us in spreading the word about the project back home. The challenge, if you choose to accept, consists of the following 3 steps: 1. Sit down and show 5 people the blankets.com website and how to donate a blanket. 2. We are trying to get all 50 states involved in the drive so that all of America is represented. As I said before are currently at 25. If you know anyone in the following states let them know about the project: ALABAMA, ALASKA, DELAWARE, HAWAII, IOWA, KANSAS, KENTUCKY, LOUISIANA, MASSACHUSETTS, MISSISSIPPI, MISSOURI, MONTANA, NEBRASKA, NEVADA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW MEXICO, NORTH DAKOTA, OKLAHOMA, RHODE ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA, SOUTH DAKOTA, UTAH, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, AND WYOMING. 3. April is our media blitz month and if you have ties to television, radio, and newspapers let them know about our project. If need be, we will email you the press release. If you choose to accept this challenge feel free to email me and let me know that you are on board. We love feedback! Also we have decided to send this email in groups based on which state you are from in order to allow you to see who in your state is getting involved with this project. Thank you again for your continued support! SPC McCafferty, SPC Stephens, LT Evers, SPC Correll, SPC Thorstenson, PFC Riley, PFC Brown, and SGT Chris Cunningham
