| In the news I think it might be fun to post different news stories and get everyone's opinions on them Today in the news!! a man is jailed for owing $95,000 in alimony. His x was diagnsed with cancer just before they divorced. He said he agreed to the $1000 a week alimony, because he thought she was going to die. he never would have agreed to that amount if he had known she was going to live this long. I think if he no longer feels that it is a fair amount, and if she is able to support herself, then he should go to court to get the amount reduced. But to just NOT pay it is stupid. If anyone else has heard this story and knows more details, please fill us in. |

| I haven't heard that, but I'm surprised that an attorney would allow him to enter into an agreement that he obviously couldn't afford. You file documentation of your income and such. I mean to add up to $95k is a couple of years. It would only take a couple months to figure out you would need to modify something. He deserves it for being stupid.
