| Can someone explain Paypal to me? I use Paypal sometimes when I buy stuff but how does it work if I sell something? Do they charge a fee? I went on their website but I'm just not getting it.

they take a cut out of every label order I get and it really adds up.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | to add to what I just posted - I THINK if you are only selling in very small amounts - you can probably still use the account that takes no fees....but IF they see you receiving money on a regular basis they'll adjust the account for you I think and turn it into a business account so they can deduct a percent of what you take in. |

| They do charge you, based on the amount of what you sell, hence is why some sellers make the shipping higher to pick up ebay fees and paypal fees. I always charged a ship/handle fee of 1.50 to 2.00 to cover a box, tape and use of ink from my computer when I printed the shipping label. I also told this in my auctions to make people aware of exactly what my fees were and why. Good luck There is a 800# below on paypal site (contact us) they could help you with what the cost is exactly. I took a break from ebay last summer and never started back the fees were killing me!

I need to advertise on the net as I'm hardly getting any orders in and the cost just to have a store starts at $15 a month - that gets pretty expensive when someone is selling something very low priced like I am

| I thought that paypal took a small fee whether you had a business account or personal account. When I sold a few things on ebay paypal charged me a small percentage of the sale and that was before I upgraded to a business account. So I had to pay a fee to ebay AND to paypal re: the ebay store--is it possible to try to sell your labels on ebay without a store (at least initially)? Then you won't have to pay a fee and you can guage peoples interest in your labels. Fees are so incredibly annoying to me. I understand that you have to pay for a service but when you get charged fees from so many different places for 1 transaction, you have to increase your prices to compensate. And, like you said, when you sell things that are not that expensive, they can become to pricey just so you don't lose money. When I sell my treats to local people that I know, I tell them that the price is a lot cheaper if they pay me with cash because there are NO fees if I receive cash. I get charged SO MANY fees if someone pays me with a credit card . The fees are a bit less if someone pays with paypal... sorry for rambling

| After hearing all this I don't think I was to sell anything using paypal. I hate all the fees involved! Thanks for all the information!

| i don't have a business account just a personal one but I did upgrade to premeir personal account. I have only used it four times. Once to send a dog deposit and three times to recieve my deposait for my puppies. i charge a $100, deposit. When they use paypal to send it to me, paypal charges me over three dollars. i clear $96. and some change on the $100. Vi, I think you might be underpricing your labels. Did you look around and see what other people or commercial businesses are selling them for? Yours are handmade and custom made so i think they should be worth more. |
