| So sad. It breaks my heart to think of what animals go thru when things happen and someone isn't watching out for them.

| What Happened to the Hurricane Katrina Dogs I don't have the heart to watch the video as I have seen more than my fair share. We also adopted a Katrina Dog in the March after the storm. Even then he weighed in at only 40 pounds and had many health issues. He's now really healthy (72 lbs) and very happy but not a day goes by that I don't think about what happened to him and his family. He is a lab and, together with his sister Brandy, who also happens to be a rescue dog, they make a wonderful addition to our family. Both Brandy and Val are pet therapy dogs now, too, helping special needs children in our community! For reference, I wrote an article in eZines about Katrina Pets and laws enacted in response to how how poorly the pets were provided for. Ilene Fine, Author animal-pa |
