| Have to ask this.... I know this will probably be taken the wrong way by some but this is truly something that has been eating at me. This is a forum where many members come to learn and be educated and ask questions about yorkies. Many are members looking for their first and even second yorkie, that come to find reputable breeders to buy from. I know this was the first place I found when I first started researching the yorkie breed. Well here is the problem I have: Why is it when the reputable breeders and knowledgeable members ask these people (sellers of puppies) questions they are the ones that are called rude. I know I am thankful for these members asking these questions because there are many unreputable breeders who prey on forums like these. I hear to many horror stories of people getting sick yorkies and some even having to put them down. So shouldnt we kind of be greatful that this forum has members that will ask those questions and help us identify a potential byb? Maybe they are able to spot red flags that some of us cant or maybe they are questions some want to ask but are afraid to. Many of the questions asked should not be a problem answering if those breeders have nothing to hide. I dont know I guess I am just venting cause I am having bad day but thats my question. Please know this is not meant to offend anyone. I do want to say thanks though to those breeders on this forum who do speak up and ask the questions that should be asked and for looking out for the members of this forum. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | This was in a site suggestion & I did post in it so I just copied part of my post for here since no one replied I realize people don't like to see threads closed or get a negative but lots of people learn what to look for in a puppy in the For Sale threads or breeder section ... This is where I've learned much of what I know ....in most cases - it's the buyers who benefit from the more outspoken people on this site...and I know sometimes the breeders feel picked on...but if a breeder has nothing to hide and can be proud of what they're selling - then I doubt anyone would see red flags ....at least there ARE people here that care enough to call a Red Flag when they see one - or are brave enough to ask questions. I don't agree with being rude for the sake of being rude..... but People are going to sell no matter WHAT we say. We've been seeing so many people who's 1st post is selling puppies and things don't seem 'right' why not say something ?? It's for the members benefit that people actually say something - and the puppies too. I'll shut up now.... I told myself recently it's not worth talking about because it sure seems the whole country has gone small breed crazy ....there sure are a ton of people out there breeding now |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It isn't easy to ask what you think are legitimate questions - only to be jumped on by what I refer to as the "anything goes group". I'm thankful for the new rules about posting pups for sale, it is a step in the right direction. I appreciate the admin here for listening to our concerns. Maybe between the new rule and the reputable breeders things will continue to improve. For the dog's sake I certainly hope so!!

| I know I was bashed on here recentlly because someone posted abut a breeder that breeded a tiny yorkie to a larger yorkie. I said the breeder was unreputable. The breeder ended up being a member on here. I was accused of calling her names breaking the rules on here and everything else

| Well I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way. It just seems that there has been a surge in newcomers coming here to only sell puppies. I to am glad that admin instituted the new rule about the age of puppies being sold. Hopefully everyone will understand that when these breeders are asked questions it is not for the sake of being rude but for the sake our members and making sure that they dont get taken. Unfortunately because the small breed dogs have become so popular, people just start breeding without knowing the lines or if their dogs have a genetic problem in their lines that can be passed on. They dont care as long as they make a quick buck, and that is the type of breeder I would not want to buy from. I know if I was a breeder I would be offended if someone didnt ask me about my breeding program, and I sure wouldnt be offended if I was questioned because it shows me that someone has done their research in the breed. Ok sorry for the long post. |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I agree with you to an extent i do believe that if someone see's a red flag that yes they should say something i agree with that i also agree that if the breeder has nothing to hide then it shouldn't be an issue. However i have seen o to many times some very rude members not even asking questions but literally implying their morals on the situation we all need to remember this is a public forum and everyone has different opinions there is a nice way to go about it! It really is sad sometimes people are so scared that they are gonna be judged on anything they say! People who have or want a small yorkie don't dare say so in fear of being ridiculed for what they want. If a breeder comes on here and posts a tiny yorkie litter for sale they are instantly jumped on by YT members tell them how cruel they are and how dare they and they have to be byb because of it. Well that is not always the case and then the breeder will have their feelings hurt and they get defensive and then the thread is closed and the breeder or person never come back. I agree with the new rules i think they will stop a lot of this from happening. But we all have to remember we were new here at one time to and a lot of them don't know the hot spot topics that are here and to be honest we really need to try to educate people about the hot spots instead of jumping down their throats! sorry if i offend anyone by saying all this but i'm tired of seeing people scared to say anything here i love it here and think everyone is wonderful but we all have our moments ya know? ok ok i'm done sorry lol
