Default Good grief!!!

I can't believe this. We are getting new carpeting here and we have everything out of the livingroom...old carpet pulled up and this place is one big mess! So the carpet guy comes this morn...puts down the pad...gets the carpet in and there is NOT enough carpet! I can't believe this! A lady came out and measured so it is not our fault. IF they can get more carpet in the same dye lot, he can do the livingroom and part of the hallway today and finish the rest of the hallway in 2 weeks. It will mean an extra splice in the hallway, but I guess I could live with that if I have to...but...if there is no more of that dye lot, they will have to order in new and it will be 2 weeks with no carpet...no furniture...good golly miss molly! I'm upset. I was so looking forward to getting things back to normal around here! Ugh! I am a little upset here!!!

I would be beyond mad! That would be awful to be without carpet and furniture for 2 weeks! When we tore the carpet out of the living room and put hardwoods in it took me and hubby all weekend and I was going nuts without it, I cant imagine 2 weeks!

Omg, I feel your pain. We got new carpeting in our entire house, moving the furniture into this room, that room, any room for 3 days was not fun. Moving it back in place wasn't any picnic either. It would've driven me crazy if I had to deal with THAT for 2 weeks

I would be pissed. Did you call the store and give them a peace of your mind for measuring wrong? Hopefully they have more of the same dye lot.

that stinks! What are they going to give you for the inconvenience? I'd fight with the store for part of your money back at the least. Well, in the mean time it can be a big old, furniture free playground for the furbaby!

Oh, but aren't you glad that someone else measured it wrong???!!! While building our new house, I had to kick myself a few times for doing things that we're completely thought out. Nothing turned out horribly wrong but man, when it's someone else's fault, it feels a little better. Just make them make it right with you - whichever way you go.

At our old house, we recarpeted and repainted the entire house except for two of the bedrooms. We had to move every single piece of furniture out into the garage and also used our neighbor's garage (that sure was sweet of them)! That was a mess! But it was nice to be able to paint without worrying about the floors. Then when the carpet got put in, it was so nice again. I do understand the frustration but think of the rewards in the end!

Yikes, that sounds like my luck!
Where did that person learn how to measure? First day?

Okay...the carpet...what there was of it...is in and I love it. There is about a 10 ft area at the end of the hallway that they will come back and do in 2 weeks. They were wanting to order new and I guess when we told them they would have to put something down for the time being, they decided to go with what they had! I am so relieved! They claim they can match dye lots so we'll see! LOL It feels so good to walk on...like walking on a cloud!!! Whew!
