| Maltese question Hi I had a Maltese for about 20 yrs . My question is about there coats . My Maltese had a very thick cotton coat do all Maltese have cotton coats? I am thinking of getting a Maltese. Just wondering about there coats my little girl was kept in a puppy cut all the time because her hair would get matted very easy. Thanks |

| The Maltese standard is similar to the Yorkie standard: ideally silky coat. Like Yorkies though, some have silky, some cotton.

| Getting an adult, or at least 8 - 12 months old, would be the best way to confirm the silky coat. Best wishes in your search.
